Commissioned by Jean Lambert, London's Green Party MEP, this film was made with a group of young people from Newham and Hackney in East London who received training and work-experience while filming in London and at the European Parliament in Brussels.
The film looks at issues of social exclusion, exploring links between people's immediate environment and their quality of life. Building on research previously undertaken by Capacity Global, it looks at how young people feel marginalised by the political system and shows how Jean Lambert is bringing these findings to the policy process in the European Parliament. Funded by The Greens/European Free Alliance, the film was designed to be used by schools, colleges and youth groups to provoke and stimulate discussion on issues of European politics and representation. The dvd pack includes extra material for further research, including a download of Capacity Global's original research report plus extra footage of Jean going into more detail about working as an MEP and the policy making processes of the European Parliament.
