THE MONSTER OF HOVE LAGOON
Young skaters using a skate-park in Brighton were trained and supported to make a film which challenges negative opinions about their activities and behaviour. After inviting the local newspaper - The Argus - to take part in filming by answering the young people's concerns that only critics of the park were being given print-space, the paper subsequently ran a story about the skaters' efforts to show people what they are really like. The Argus was also enthusiastic about screening the film on their website.
